How Town Hall Link Connects to Jurong East MRT and the Future CR19 Station
Buyers looking at a mixed-use white site tend to ask the same practical question: when I live here, how do I actually get to the train? For Town Hall Link, URA has put the answer in writing in its 3 July 2026 tender release and on its tender page. This guide sets out what those documents commit to, and what they leave open.
What URA says about the connection
URA describes the site as connected to the Jurong East MRT interchange station and to the upcoming CR19 MRT station at Jurong Lake District through multi-level pedestrian linkages. It adds that the site sits next to the Jurong Town Hall national monument and a future park. CR19 is on the Cross Island Line and is planned to open in 2032.
On the tender page, the airspace stratum is reserved for an elevated pedestrian link bridge. The subterranean stratum is optional and may be used for car parking, servicing and district infrastructure. So the bridge reservation is part of the land parcel itself, not only a district aspiration.
The wider district plan
URA’s Jurong Lake District website describes the new precinct as joined to the existing commercial centre and MRT station by elevated pedestrian linkages and planted streets, in a car-lite setting. It states that the district will be served by four rail lines once the Jurong Region Line (around mid-2028) and Cross Island Line Phase 2 (2032) are completed.
What is not confirmed
- Walking distance and time. URA publishes no figure, and the final building layout depends on the developer who wins the tender.
- Whether the route is sheltered end to end. The documents say multi-level linkages and an elevated bridge, not covered walkways.
- Where the residential lobbies sit. Homes share the site with offices, shops and other uses, and the entrances are not yet designed in public.
- Developer, name, price and completion date. The tender closes at 12 noon on 17 November 2026 and none of these is announced.
How to use this when you compare
Treat CR19 as a 2032 plan, not a service you can rely on at move-in. Until then, the Jurong East interchange is the rail anchor the site is linked to. When the developer is named, ask for the level and route of the residential entrance to the pedestrian link, and for the walking time to the Jurong East interchange once it is measured on plan.
For the surrounding area, see the location page. When the developer releases anything, we will post it on the price page, the floor plans page and the showflat page. Contact Davis Ng to be told first.
